Working While Collecting TTD Benefits Results in Criminal Charges

On January 6th, 2020 the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office regarding the arraignment of a claimant charged with felony insurance fraud. In this particular case, the examiner received a tip indicating that the claimant was working for his own construction company while out on workers’ compensation collecting TTD benefits.

Custodian Accepts Plea Bargain

On December 2nd, 2019 the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office regarding the successful prosecution in the case of People of California vs. R. Purvis. In this case, the claimant’s deposition was taken in Los Angeles County under the penalty of perjury.

School Bus Driver Convicted of Insurance fraud and Ordered to Pay Back The District $20,000.00 In Restitution

On October 31st, 2019 the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations was formally notified by the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office as to the successful prosecution in the case of People of California v. D. Rose. In this case the claimant alleged to have suffered a back injury while moving a wheelchair into a loading space on the bus.

Fugitive Arrested on Felony Insurance Fraud Charges

On October 16th, 2019, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office regarding the arrest and arraignment based upon a documented referral submitted. In this particular case, the claimant worked at a winery and alleged to have suffered an injury to his lower back, neck and thigh.

Former Costa Mesa Police Department Officer Ordered to Pay Back City $75,427.00 In Restitution

On September 20th, 2019, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office regarding the successful prosecution in the case of People of California vs. R. Natividad.  In this particular case, the claims examiner detected contradictory information regarding the AOE/COE aspects of the claim.

Former Doctor Pleads Guilty to Federal Criminal Charges

On August 19th, 2019, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified by the United States Attorney General’s Office regarding the conviction of Dr. Wendell Street.  This particular case initiated from a questionable workers’ compensation claim filed against the Hesperia School District.
