Substitute School Teacher Convicted of Insurance Fraud

On March 12th, 2020, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office regarding the successful prosecution in the case of People of California vs. C. Storey. In this particular case, the claimant was employed as a substitute teacher for the Alhambra Unified School District and alleged to have sustained an injury to her left shoulder.

Working While Collecting TTD Benefits Results in Criminal Charges

On January 6th, 2020 the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office regarding the arraignment of a claimant charged with felony insurance fraud. In this particular case, the examiner received a tip indicating that the claimant was working for his own construction company while out on workers’ compensation collecting TTD benefits.

On December 2nd, 2019 the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office regarding the successful prosecution in the case of People of California vs. R. Purvis. In this case, the claimant’s deposition was taken in Los Angeles County under the penalty of perjury.
