Marin County District Attorney’s Office Files Felony Charges Against Physician

The Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was notified by the Marin County District Attorney’s Office regarding the upcoming arraignment and felony charges filed against a California licensed physician.

Based on a Demand Letter provided by the Marin County District Attorney’s Office, the RJN SIU began to work with their investigative staff pertaining to a criminal investigation on a California licensed physician.  Medical reports, billing and additional claim documentation were provided to the District Attorney’s Office to assist in their investigation. Upon completion of their criminal investigation, the physician was charged with one felony count in reference to Present/etc, False/etc insurance claim per payment in violation of Penal Code Section 550(a)(1). Count #2, a felony – Conspire to make/etc fake statements for insurance claim benefits in violation of Penal Code Section 550(b)(2). Count #3, a felony – False fraudulent statement/REP in support of claim in violation of Insurance Code Section 1871.4(a)(1). The criminal arraignment on this case is now scheduled to take place next month. It is the policy of the RJN SIU not to formally identify a suspect until they are convicted in a court of law.
