Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office Secures Conviction And Obtains $196,000.00 In Restitution

On February 28th, 2023, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was recently notified by the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office regarding the successful prosecution of People of California vs. H. Flynn.  In this case, initial red flag indicators were detected pertaining to the processing of workers’ compensation policies by a management firm on behalf of 17 separate companies. The RJN SIU began to work with the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office over three years ago and provided pertinent information pertaining to payroll reporting, audits, copies of insurance policies, underwriting documents, and certificates of insurance.  After attending over 15 criminal hearings, the owner of the management company entered into a plea-bargaining agreement in which he agreed to plead guilty to Penal Code Section 478(b)(3).  At the time of the sentencing, the owner provided the District Attorney’s Office with a check in the amount of $196,000.00 to split among the 17 company victims.  The RJN SIU insurance client in this case received $68,000.00 of the total restitution.
