City Maintenance Worker Changes Plea to Guilty

The Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was notified by the Los Angeles District Attorney prosecutions team that the claimant “abruptly” changed course and entered a no contest plea to one count of felony insurance fraud, a violation of Insurance Code section 1871.4(a)(1), stemming from his misstatements at the time of his deposition.

The Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. has learned that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has been successful in the prosecution in the case of People of California v. E. Deoca. The claimant agreed to plead Nolo Contendere to count one as a felony which will result in two years of felony probation.

Law School Student Convicted of Insurance Fraud

The Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was notified of the successful prosecution in the case of People of California v J. Camper as to felony workers’ compensation fraud in violation of Insurance Code section 1871.4(a). The claimant was sentenced to 200 hours of community services and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $8,718.63 to the employer.

Teacher’s Aide Ordered to Pay Back $35,090.00 In Restitution Due to Insurance Fraud

On November 2nd, 2022, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was notified of the successful outcome in the case of People of California vs. M. Corcoran.  In this particular case, the claimant alleged that while working in the lower playground area pulling carts out of a closet, and while pulling one, she felt a twinge in her upper back.

Restaurant Worker Convicted of Workers’ Compensation Insurance Fraud and Must Pay Back Restitution in The Amount Of $20,000.00

The Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office regarding the successful prosecution in the case of People of California vs. A. Smith. In this particular case, the claimant alleged to have suffered a work-related injury to his back while lifting a box.

Hotel Worker Convicted of Workers Compensation Fraud

On July 26th, 2022, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was notified of the successful prosecution in this case in Ventura County. The claimant was found guilty of Insurance Code Section 1871.4(a). Furthermore, the claimant admitted to the following two felony counts of Insurance Code Section 4.421(a)(8) CRC and Insurance Code Section 4.421(a)(9) CRC. As part of the conviction, a restitution amount has been stipulated at $26,710.32. Sentencing is currently scheduled for 09/08/2022. In this case, the claimant worked as a Room Attendant in Ventura County and alleged to have sustained injuries to her right arm and back while working her normal and customary duties.
