In this case, the claimant was employed as a full-time County Maintenance Construction Worker. He alleged that while changing road signs, he tripped and landed on his right shoulder.
On November 28th, 2023, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was notified of the successful prosecution of a claimant who was employed as a Janitor in Fresno County. In this case, the claimant alleges to have sustained injuries to his back and right shoulder while waxing floors.
On November 7th, 2023, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office of the recent outcome of a criminal hearing pertaining to restitution. This hearing was in reference to the case of People of California vs.
On October 23rd, 2023, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was notified of the successful prosecution of a claimant who was employed as a Field Worker in Kern County. In this case, the claimant alleges to have injured his right wrist/hand while trimming grape vines on a trellis.
The Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was formally notified of the sentencing of Dr. Wendall Street. In this case, the RJN SIU level investigation established evidence indicating that Dr. Street was illegally providing opiates to a school district employee who had filed a workers’ compensation claim.
On September 19th, 2023, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was notified that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has arrested and filed felony insurance fraud charges based upon a documented referral submitted by RJN SIU. In this case, the claimant made material misrepresentations to his treating doctors in contrast to what he was seen capable of doing at the time surveillance of the claimant was secured.
On August 15th, 2023, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was notified that the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office has arrested and filed one count of felony insurance fraud based upon a documented referral submitted.
On July 25th, 2023, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was notified that the Orange County District Attorney’s Office had filed felony criminal charges on a Sheriff Special Officer Level II. In this particular case, the claimant filed a workers’ compensation claim and based upon the listed restrictions, the employer was unable to accommodate and as such, he began to receive temporary total disability payments.
On July 11th, 2023, the Special Investigative Unit of RJN Investigations, Inc. was recently notified regarding the successful prosecution in the case of People of California vs. B. Groscost and F. Koltsov. According to the press release issued by the California Department of Insurance, “These co-conspirators allegedly ordered screening and prescriptions for injured workers in order to enrich themselves, not to protect their patients,” said Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara.
